Pink & Blue Spotted Sock Monster

I gave away the monster I made with this sock's mate a long time ago. (sadly, I have no pictures of it.)

The legs on this monster are from a sparkly sweater. The tongue is the thumb from a glove.

Custom Rainbow Sock Monster

I made this guy as a custom order from the Allendale Columbia show...

A little girl had been to my booth and had her eye on a particular monster. When she brought her mother back later to buy it, someone had already bought the monster she'd wanted. The little girl described the monster to me...rainbow with pink fuzzy belly, and fingers and toes. I knew exactly the monster she was talking about. I told her mother that I still had the other sock at home and could custom make a monster similar to the one she'd wanted...

This is the first monster I've made a tag for. I made the tag with a logo stamp I'd gotten from JackBear Stamps, some Staz-On ink, and some twill tape.

Pigtailed Monsters

Two firsts...both including pigtails. First of all, the first Galliwumpf with pigtails!

Next...the first Nubbin with pigtails (and eyelashes)!

The recipiant of my pigtailed Nubbin...my friend Missie. We were best friends in high school. Tonight was her bridal shower AND her birthday party. I gave her the pigtailed Nubbin for her birthday. She loved it (of course!) and then gave my business card to all her friends! And one of her friends bought a Nubbin out of my car before we left! :D

(Since I have a show tomorrow night, I kept my monsters in the car from last weekend's show rather than lugging them upstairs)

Crazy-Eyed, Spotted Elder Galliwumpf

Here's another Elder Galliwumpf! But this one is like the fun, crazy uncle of the Galliwumpf family! The other Elder Galliwumpfs are always telling him to grow up, but the younger Galliwumpfs think he's the coolest ever!

I love how the double buttons on one eye make him look crazy!
Don't you guys love it when I have a craft show? I finish lots of new monsters and then have lots of updates for you with the spare time I have while I wait for people to buy things! (I've made two sales tonight so far...not bad)

Blue & Purple Elder Galliwumpf

I both love and loathe when I make a monster I think is so adorable, that it's hard to part with. I REALLY like this little guy! It almost makes me sad to put him out on my table to be sold!

It looks like he's got a big fuzzy beard. I sewed him in the Galliwumpf style...but with a slight difference that results in that moustache look. Maybe I'll call him an Elder Galliwumpf.
I was originally thinking that the moustache part would be a lip from which the purple tongue is prodruding. But once I sewed it up...I think it looks like he has a beard and moustache. What do you think?

He coordinates with my purple outfit today! ;)

Finished Argyle and Galliwumpf Sock Monsters

Okay...I told you I'd get them done!

You can see more detailed pictures when I post each of these on my Etsy shop.

Galliwumpfs Sneak Peek

I've been going through my box of sock remnants and I'm really liking this new , what I call "Galliwumpf", design.

It's nice because I can use remnants of a sock that isn't really enough to make a whole monster, so I fill in the belly with a coordinating fuzzy sock material. I really would like to obtain some more of this fuzzy sock material, since I know eventually I'm going to run out. Anyone got any unwanted fuzzy socks?...send them my way!

Don't you wish I'd just finish something already?
Well, I try to save the hand sewing and such for when I'm chilling out at night, watching TV with da hubby. I got a little bit done last night on those two sock monsters I posted yesterday, but we were watching Hellboy II (our newest Netflix DVD) and I got caught up in the movie and didn't end up finishing them! The green shamrock guy just needs some eyes, and the argyle guy needs eyes as well as his lips finished up. I promise, they'll get finished by tomorrow and I'll let you see the finished product. I actually think I'll go work on them right now!
