...and then she was hooked. So the menfolk stayed home with the dogs while Mom and I went out to the local Goodwill to find more vinyl to creatively maim.
We found lots of Carpenters (which I found funny because Mom loves the Carpenters...and I hate them). We also got some Barry Manilow...making sure only to pick out albums that had yellow tags (this week, yellow tagged items are 50% off) since Goodwill has overpriced their old records. They used to be 25 cents, now they're $1.99. Goodwill Industries have gone all corporate and overpriced. It's a THRIFT store for goodness sake! One record we found still had the original price tag, and it was only 77 cents when it was new!...(yay for inflation). But Mom and I had a lot of fun. I think part of our fun was due to the fact that I used to work at this particular Goodwill (as did my brother), and I know the old ins and outs of the store...plus I remember the good old days when it felt like a family, before it got all cold and corporate.
Plus, we would see funny things like this...

Yes, it was FUN. But now Dad needs to record the records before I can use them as craft projects. I hope he learns how to do it soon or I will be out of the mood for melted vinyl. Thanks for going with me and havin' fun.
